Letters : N.Y., to Andrew Robertson, London, 1835-1837.

Two letters addressed to Robertson's brother, Andrew, also a painter. In the letter dated 1835 Robertson discusses the publication of William Dunlap's History of the Rise and Progress of the Arts of Design in the United States and the long-standing enmity between Dunlap and John Trumbull. Robertson notes some mistakes in the article about himself in Dunlap's study and also mentions contemporary theatrical events. The letter dated 1837 concerns the health of Trumbull.
